Our Restoration of Beautiful St. Mary's in Wausau, WI
St. Mary's after our renovationOne of the outstanding examples of our effort to revitalize history and classical architecture is the restoration of St. Mary's Oratory of the Immaculate Conception in Wausau, Wisconsin, completed in 2003. A fire in 1953 destroyed the antique beauty of the building, even though the church still remained the most prominent old ecclesiastical edifice in the city.
Beautitfully Restored
St. Mary's before our renovationSt. Mary's was never brought back to its former beauty until it was given to our priestly order, the Institute of Christ the King.
With the help of many donors and one very generous benefactor, to whom we have gratefully dedicated a prominent entrance hall, the oratory is now again a pearl of breathtaking beauty and attracts visitors, tourists, and faithful from all faiths from around the country. St. Mary's now shows the splendor of High Gothic architecture, achieved by modeling the building after the Blutenburg Chapel in Munich, Bavaria.

As with our new project to restore the Shrine of Christ the King, our designer Abbe Alexander Willweber collaborated with the architect to bring the project to life.
Now, with your generous support, we hope to fully restore the Shrine of Christ the King in Chicago, that it may enjoy its rightful place in history.
